Welcome!
The Learning Center is owned and operated by Covenant Church. We provide developmentally age-appropriate activities that help develop strong character and values, including Biblical references and Bible verses. All while allowing the child to be a child and to learn through creative play.
Biblical Worldview
Educating from a Biblical worldview is one of the core values of The Learning Center. Our curriculum is wholly based on Christian teaching, with Bible lessons and memory verses built-in. From the play area to the classroom, worship music is played throughout our facility. We pray together with our students every day, and weekly chapel services introduce your little ones to basic concepts of Christianity in engaging ways. At The Learning Center, we’re committed to partnering with you to create a strong foundation of faith for your child.

Sharla Anderson
Pastoral Oversight
I am honored to serve as the Pastoral Oversight for The Learning Center. I have 10 years’ experience teaching Kindergarten and First Grade as well as an administrator over a private Christian school for 9 years. I have been so blessed to serve in this capacity. I have been married 42 years and have two wonderful children and two amazing grandsons. I am truly passionate about watching the little ones grow and helping them meet their milestones setting them up for success as they transition into their school age years. I have been on staff at Covenant Church for 22 years and am honored to help provide a learning environment that promotes character development while teaching them Christian principles. I look forward to working alongside parents and staff to ensure the growth and success of our little learners.

Haley Selby-Karney
Director of The Learning Center
I am blessed to be the Director of The Learning Center at Covenant Church. I have been with Covenant Church since 2021. I have always had a passion for working with children and watching them grow and learn. I graduated from Texas A&M Commerce with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I also have my director’s credentials for childcare centers. I am so excited to meet and build relationships with all the amazing kids and families that join our center. Here at The Learning Center, it’s our goal to provide a fun, loving, safe, Christian learning environment for your children.

Cecilia Esparza
Director of Curriculum
I have been with Covenant Church since 2016. It has always been a passion of mine to work with children. I have worked in 3 state regulated childcare centers and hold a degree in Early Childhood Education EC–6th Grade and Director Credentials for Childcare Centers. I am so excited to be working with our little ones, using Abeka and Frogstreet to help them learn in a fun environment! The Learning Center’s goal it to guide our students to meet their milestones and be prepared for Kindergarten. My hope is to provide a Christian, fun, safe, loving, and learning environment for your children. I look forward to building a relationship with our families and watching the children grow.

Our Teachers
You’ll be greeted by friendly smiles, as our staff welcomes your little one. Whether asking how they are feeling today or if they need help finding their class, the teachers at TLC create an environment where your child feels attention and care. The Learning Center strives to have quality teachers for your children. We have in-service training days to ensure our teachers are receiving their 24 hours of annual training and meeting State Guidelines. The Learning Center staff holds multiple certifications and degrees in education.
What We Offer
Curriculum
Our professionally trained staff carefully follows our faith-based curriculum to nurture your child’s progress, in each stage of learning. We teach your children based on a combination of Frog Street and Abeka curriculum. Every lesson is carefully planned to stimulate your child’s intelligence and imagination, with strategic break times and fun built in, to keep her attention.
Programs
The Learning Center offers full-time childcare for children ages six-weeks through pre-kindergarten, Monday through Friday, 7:00am – 6:00pm.
Infants (6-17 Months)
This infant program is developed with the special needs of that age group in mind. Our infant program provides learning experiences to enhance your child’s social-emotional development, physical development, cognitive development, and language development to help them build a strong foundation.
Toddlers (18-36 Months)
This program is geared towards your walking toddler from 18-36 months. We work on activity choices organized around five developmental domains. The toddler program provides learning experiences to enhance your child’s social, emotional, academic, cognitive and developmental growth.
Pre-School and Pre-K (3-5 years)
This program is geared towards your child from 3-5 years of age and is intended to smoothly transition your child into kindergarten, encourage self-dependence, boost self-esteem and develop talents. Our program provides learning experiences to enhance your child’s social, emotional, academic, cognitive and developmental growth.
